Case Western Reserve University is delighted to announce the launch of their new program in Global Medieval Studies, administered through the Department of Art History and Art in collaboration with Classics, English, Modern Languages and Literatures, and Music departments. The Graduate Certificate in Global Medieval Studies offers students the opportunity to pursue rigorous interdisciplinary study of the medieval world. The program, free for degree-seeking graduate students in any of the participating departments, is geared towards those who wish to pursue the certificate as a complement to their primary field of study. The program leverages established partnerships with the Cleveland Museum of Art and existing performance ensembles. Each year, the Department of Art History and Art sponsors lectures by distinguished scholars and curators of medieval and Byzantine art, while the Graduate Association for Medieval Studies (GAMS) organizes multiple events every semester. The program is further enriched by robust colloquia hosted by Music and English departments, which regularly bring prominent medievalists to campus. For questions, please contact Prof. Elina Gertsman, the program’s director, at exg152@case.edu or visit https://arthistory.case.edu/graduate-certificate-in-global-medieval-studies/
Finally, there’s good news for all of us as the previously-withdrawn NEH grants are beginning to be restored. Congratulations on this victory!
Congratulations! If you have good news to share, please send it to Executive Director Lisa Fagin Davis.
